Description |
Large ornate silver 1st prize trophy from the Fruit Fair, held in Trail BC. The ornate cup that sits on a black wood base. This artifact has multiple pieces. For more details, see the part descriptions below. 1955.78.1a:large silver first prize trophy cup from the Fruit Fair. Large silver cup with two handles and a floral/leaf design with acorn detailing. The cup tapers to a very short stem before flaring to a wide round bottom that sits on a base. The trophy information is engraved on the front of the cup (see inscription). There is a leaf/acorn design around the top and bottom of the cup. There are 15 acorn sculptures, of which six are missing the nut. The cup handles have a leaf pattern on the top and bottom. 1955.78.1b: black wood trophy base. The base has three distinct sections. There is a hole in the center of the base and a metal ring on the top for the trophy to fit around. The ring is hooked onto the bas by three small nails. "31" is stamped in the hollow on the bottom of the base. "9142" is written on the bottom of the base, matching the part number stamped on the bottom of the trophy cup |
