Description |
Large wood and glass Le Roi Beer sign. Sign consists of a curved piece of painted glass on a light brown wood frame. The frame has angled sides that have a wire hanger attached (fits sign against a wall). The glass is white with a large silver rectangle diagonally across the center with "Le Roi" in large gold letters with a black outline. Above the rectangle is a gold and red seal with "LRB" intertwined in red. There is wheat or barley stalks and hops on the sides of the seal. "Rossland B.C." is in silver letters with a black shadow underneath the right side of the rectangle. "Beer" is in large gold letters with a black and green shadow across the bottom. The design is framed by a navy rectangle outline. "J.B. Schmidt & Co ST. LOUIS, MO, U.S.A" is in small letters at the bottom of the glass. The frame has a top and bottom. Sign may have hung over/in front of a light fixture. |

- Found on the premises of Wise's Hardware (2044 Washington Street) that formerly was the Hoffman House Hotel - The Le Roi Brewing Company was Rossland's longest running brewery. Opening 1897, it only closed in 1917 because of the government enforce prohibition. |
