Description |
Large ornate silver metal All Comers Cup on a large black base with winners plaques. This artifact has multiple pieces. For more details, see the part descriptions below. 1955.77.1a: Large ornate silver cup with two handles that flares around the middle before tapering to a round bottom that sites on the base. The cup has four different floral design spots/rings. A sculpture of a curling stone sits at the base of the handles. The cup has a scalloped rim with a design on it. The bottom of the sculpture has two small sections/rings of designs. The trophy information is engraved on the face (see inscription). 1955.77.1b: propellor shaped black wooden base for the All Comers Cup. The base consists of a round center with a ledge on either side. There is a sculpture of a curler mid-throw on the left ledge (there should be one on the right ledge, but it is missing). There are 22 engraved crest-shaped winners plaques on the base. The top of the base has a metal ring, which the trophy cup sits. Inside the metal rinf is a sticker that reads "All Comers Cup". 1955.77.1c: Lid for the All Comers Cup. Large round metal lid with a podium topped with a sculpture of three crossed brooms over a curling stone. There is a ring of floral design around the base of the podium. There is a small ball design around the top of the podium. There is a ridge on the bottom of the lid that fits into the top of the trophy. |
