Provenance |
Mike was born in 1919 in Warsaw, Poland and came to Montreal in 1930. He was an avid skier in Quebec and brought that passion along when he arrived in Rossland in 1950. Michael’s Department Store was located on Columbia Avenue (one or two stores to the right of the Bank of Montreal) and opened in the the early1960s. Mike sold the building in the late-1970s. Like many Rossland store owners to this day, if the powder was good, Michael's Department Store was closed, and Mike was off to Red. Mike was married to Olive Anderson and together they had daughter, Eva. Mike passed away in 2019 at the age of 97. |
