Description |
Pieps motronic avalanche transmitter in a yellow case. The device in the case is orange. There are two numbers in this accession 2017.9.2a (the device) 2017.9.2b the case. The case’s zipper is stuck and cannot be opened. 2017.9.1a the device is orange and little of it is visible through the case which can’t be opened. There is long black fabric cord attached to the device. 2017.9.1b. The case is bright yellow with a yellow zipper on top. On the front is the Pieps logo along with the words "Motronic Austria". The name "Craig Broadhurst" is written on the front in pen. There is some tiny holes on the four corners of the case. The back looks very much like the front without the name printed. The cord which is attached to the device protrudes from the back from two slits. There is some tiny holes on the four corners of the case along with a large hole on the top right corner of the case. |

Used by Ski patrol and lift maintenance. Used for back country skiing and Avalanche recovery. Was used along with 2017.9.2 at Red Mountain and surrounding area. |
