Description |
Small black "Blickensderfer No. 5" typewriter. The typewriter is made up of a 30 cm platen, a 23cm silver metal ruler, a small round type guide, and 31 metal and plastic keys on a square black metal base. The black rubber platen is attached to a silver metal frame that has a releave lever on the right side. The keys are comprised of a round black button with white lettering on a silver metal arm. The space bar is made of silver metal and is a long oblong oval with a short stem. There are two shift keys, allowing a smaller type guide and the keys to have more than one use. The type guide is attached to the frame on top of the keys and has three rings of letters/numbers - top is lower case letters, middle is upper case letters, and the bottom is numbers and symbols. The type guide rotates to whatever letter was corresponded with the key pressed. There is a silver metal plaque with the manufacturing information on the frame above the keys (see inscription). Has a simple hinged-lid wood carrying case. |
