Description |
Glass plate advertising slide from Henderson's Livery in Rossland. The slide has a thick black border (paint on the reverse of the slide), with a clear, transparent window in the centre where the advertisement is. The right side of the advertisement has graphic of Santa Clause shovelling coal out of the back of the sled. There are six reindeer with large antlers standing in front of the sled. Santa Clause has a large triangular beard and a large moustache and is wearing a large coat with a belt and a hat with white around the bottom. There is a street with a couple of houses and tree trunks visible. "American Photo-Slide Co -" in small black lettering underneath the graphic. "XMAS COMFORT" is in large black lettering in the top left side of the advertisement. "order a supply of our", "COAL", and "Enjoy a warm, cheerful, Christmas Fire" are in different fonts to the left of the graphic. "Henderson's Livery Ford Agency Coal, Wood and Ice" is in a variety of fonts across the bottom of the advertisement. The left side of the border has a five-point gold star in a circle with "American Photo-Slide Co" beside it (vertically along the side of the slide). The right side has "Los Angeles San Fernando Building" in gold lettering. There is textured tape around the exterior of the slide. |

Henderson's Livery was operated in Rossland by M.A. Henderson during the first half of the 20th century. The business went by different names throughout its history including Henderson's Livery and the Henderson Bros. Recovered from a dumpster by the donor. |
