Description |
Glass plate advertising slide from Henderson's Livery in Rossland. The slide has a thick black border (paint on the reverse of the slide), with a clear, transparent window in the centre where the advertisement is. The right side of the advertisement has a photograph of a man and a woman looking at the engine of an automobile. The woman (left) is wearing a long plaid coat and a cloche-style hat. The man is on the right and is wearing dark pants, a vest, white long-sleeved shirt and a fedora. There is a thing double-lined border with embellished corners around the exterior of the image. "American Photo-Slide Co -" in small black lettering underneath the image. "Bring us that engine trouble" is in large black lettering in the top left side of the advertisement. "We’re specialists on", "Curing Ford ailments", and "- fast work & fair prices" are in different fonts to the left of the graphic. "Henderson's Livery Ford Agency Coal, Wood and Ice" is in a variety of fonts across the bottom of the advertisement. Both times "Ford" appears, it is in the Ford Motor Company logo’s font (cursive with a large F at the start). The left side of the border has a five-point gold star in a circle with "American Photo-Slide Co" beside it (vertically along the side of the slide). The right side has "Los Angeles San Fernando Building" in gold lettering. There is textured tape around the exterior of the slide. |

Henderson's Livery was operated in Rossland by M.A. Henderson during the first half of the 20th century. The business went by different names throughout its history including Henderson's Livery and the Henderson Bros. Recovered from a dumpster by the donor. |
