Description |
Glass plate advertising slide from Henderson's Livery in Rossland. The slide has a thick black border (paint on the reverse of the slide), with a clear, transparent window in the centre where the advertisement is. The left side of the advertisement has a graphic of an automobile with people beside it. The automobile is an early 20th century Ford automobile, likely a Model T. To the left of the automobile a man wearing a coat and cap is helping a woman wearing a long, dark coat into the automobile. There is a woman in a light coat and cap behind the man. A house and palm/fern branches are visible in the background. There is a frame with corner detailing around the exterior of the graphic. "American Photo Slide Co. Los Angeles" is in small black lettering in the left corner of the frame. "AT YOUR CALL" is in large black lettering across the top of the advertisement. "our ever ready", "auto livery service", and "More convenient than keeping a car… - costs less." are in different fonts to the right of the graphic. "Henderson's Livery Ford Agency Coal, Wood and Ice" is in a variety of fonts across the bottom of the advertisement. The left side of the border has a five-point gold star in a circle with "American Photo-Slide Co" beside it (vertically along the side of the slide). The right side has "Los Angeles San Fernando Building" in gold lettering. There is textured tape around the exterior of the slide. |

Henderson's Livery was operated in Rossland by M.A. Henderson during the first half of the 20th century. The business went by different names throughout its history including Henderson's Livery and the Henderson Bros. Recovered from a dumpster by the donor. |
