Description |
Glass plate advertising slide from Henderson's Livery in Rossland. The slide has a thick black border (paint on the reverse of the slide), with a clear, transparent window in the centre where the advertisement is. The left side of the advertisement has a graphic of three people and an automobile. There is a man and woman sitting in the automobile and one woman in an Edwardian dress and large hat standing outside of it at the rear. The automobile does not have a top. There are trees, a house on a hill, and sun with rays in the background. "TAKE A SPIN" is in large black lettering in the top right side of the advertisement. "’round the country" and "Reasonable Rates" are in different fonts to the right of the graphic. "Autos-large & small furnished promptly" is in medium-sized black lettering underneath the graphic. "Henderson's Livery Ford Agency Coal, Wood and Ice" is in a variety of fonts across the bottom of the advertisement. The left side of the border has a five-point gold star in a circle with "American Photo-Slide Co" beside it (vertically along the side of the slide). The right side has "Los Angeles San Fernando Building" in gold lettering. There is textured tape around the exterior of the slide. |

Henderson's Livery was operated in Rossland by M.A. Henderson during the first half of the 20th century. The business went by different names throughout its history including Henderson's Livery and the Henderson Bros. Recovered from a dumpster by the donor. |
