Black and white photograph of David Morris Wadds (10-12 years old) petting his friend's horse, Little Tom Thumb, at the Deer Park wharf. David is standing on the left side of the scene and is wearing a bucket hat, white shirt, and dark trousers. One of his hands is outstretched petting the nose of a large white horse that is hooked up to a small cart. A woman in a white dress is kneeling in the cart and is holding the horse’s reins. The back edge of the wharf has large posts to support the wharf as well as tie boats too. A portion of the Arrow Lakes and several mountains in the background complete the scene. |

David Morris Wadds was born to William and Ethel Wadds on 28 April 1907 in Rossland. He grew up in Rossland with his parents and older brother George. He went on to be trained as an electrician. David Wadds married Katherine Stewart (1910-1963) on 29 June 1928 and together the couple had children Estelle Anne Elizabeth Wadds (3 March 1929-2009) and William John Wadds (26 September 1938-2021). Katherine passed away on 15 March 1963 in Victoria, BC. David got remarried to Roslynd Constance Ramsey (1917-2007) on 18 July 1964 in Kootenai, Idaho. David passed away on 27 January 1990 in Nelson, BC. |
