Description |
Glass plate advertising slide from Henderson's Livery in Rossland. The slide has a thick black border (paint on the reverse of the slide), with a clear, transparent window in the centre where the advertisement is. The right side of the advertisement has graphic of a police officer looking in an icebox. The police officer is large/overweight and is holding his chin with this left hand and drooling. The officer is wearing a coat that flares out at the hip (almost like a peplum) that has four buttons and a belt with "13" on the buckle. A large star badge with "KEYSTUN KOP 13" is pinned on the right breast. He is also wearing a helmet with a star, white gloves, and large shoes. Before the officer is a large open icebox with "ICE" on the top as various food items like a chickens and wine bottle in the opening. There are arrows leading from the officer’s eyes to the interior of the icebox. There is a wall behind the officer and his club is lying on the floor at his feet, insinuating that he dropped it to open the icebox. "American Photo-Slide Co -" in small black lettering to the right of the graphic. "FILL OUT YOUR CLOTHES" is in large black lettering in the top left side of the advertisement, arching over the top of the icebox. "by keeping your food wholesome", "PURE ICE", and "is the safest medium. WE FURNISH IT" are in different fonts to the left of the graphic. "Henderson's Livery Ford Agency Coal, Wood and Ice" is in a variety of fonts across the bottom of the advertisement. The left side of the border has a five-point gold star in a circle with "American Photo-Slide Co" beside it (vertically along the side of the slide). The right side has "Los Angeles San Fernando Building" in gold lettering. There is textured tape around the exterior of the slide. |
