Description |
Glass plate advertising slide from Henderson's Livery in Rossland. The slide has a thick black border (paint on the reverse of the slide), with a clear, transparent window in the centre where the advertisement is. The left side of the advertisement has a graphic of girl placing a piece of coal in a bucket. The girl has short dark hair with a large bow at the back and is wearing a dress with a poofy skirt and a ribbon around the waist. She is also wearing long socks and shoes. She is placing a large piece of coal in a large coal bucket with a sloped top with both hands. There is a large mirror or window in the background. "American Photo Slide Co. A CAL" is in small black lettering on the bottom left corner of the graphic. "FOR HOUSEHOLD USE" is in large black lettering in the top right side of the advertisement. "place an order for our", "Clean, Picked Coal" and "- heating comfort – least possible dirt" are in different fonts to the right of the graphic. "Henderson's Livery Ford Agency Coal, Wood and Ice" is in a variety of fonts across the bottom of the advertisement. The left side of the border has a five-point gold star in a circle with "American Photo-Slide Co" beside it (vertically along the side of the slide). The right side has "Los Angeles San Fernando Building" in gold lettering. There is textured tape around the exterior of the slide. |

Henderson's Livery was operated in Rossland by M.A. Henderson during the first half of the 20th century. The business went by different names throughout its history including Henderson's Livery and the Henderson Bros. Recovered from a dumpster by the donor. |
