Description |
Large wood framed National Cash Register Company cash register. There is 36 x 5.5cm glass window at the top with the top of 27 signs visible. The front of the register has a hinged domed lid that opens to reveal the inner counting wheels on the register with silver plate covers. The plate covers are labelled according to the registers buttons (1-3, No Sale, 4, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 50, 60, 70, 75, 80, Change, $1, $2, $3, Paid Out, $4, $5). The top of the cover has a carve pattern (shell in each corner, filigree/wave in between) and a key hole. The register has 25 keys - metal stand and frame with paper insert with number/words, and glass cover. The paper is white with a black number except for "No Sale" (orange), "Charge" (red), and "Paid Out" (black with white text). The key top is 2cm in diameter. The drawer has a carved shell on each side (19 dots surrounding it) and a metal handle shaped like a creature's head (goblin with a mustache?). There is a twisted brass bar on the top of the drawer compartment. There are three plaques on the register - 1 model, 1 donation, 1 patent information (for the first two see inscription, for the third see image 5). |
